What grading is
An independent company checks the card is authentic, assesses its condition and seals it in a hard case (slab) with a grade, usually from 1 to 10. A graded card is easier to sell and is usually worth more.

Is it worth it?
Grade cards whose value in good condition clearly exceeds the cost of the service and shipping. For most common cards it doesn't pay off.

Prepare the card
Check centering, corners, edges and surface under good light. Remove dust with a microfibre cloth, no products. Keep it in a soft sleeve inside a toploader or card saver.

Send it
Create the order on the company's website and choose the service level based on declared value. Pack it with rigid cardboard and ship with tracking and insurance. Turnaround ranges from weeks to months.
- 05
When it comes back
Check that the slab's certificate number appears on the company's website. When you list it on Pokemarket, include the company and the grade.
