Frequently asked questions
What is Pokemarket?
A local Pokémon card marketplace to buy, sell and trade in person. Meetups happen at verified trusted spots: shops, libraries, sports centres… There is no shipping and no payment through the platform.
How can I get in?
Access is by invitation: a member gives you a code that you activate with your Google account. We post invitations on our social media, and every member gets their own codes to invite people they trust.
How much does it cost?
Publishing, buying, bidding and trading are free. There are only optional paid services to feature a listing or a trusted spot, always shown as promotion.
How does an exchange work?
You show interest or make offers on a listing, the seller accepts, you pick a trusted spot and a time that fit both of your availability, and you meet there. Afterwards the trusted spot closes the deal and the whole process is rated.
Is payment made through the platform?
No. Pokemarket handles no payments or shipping: you pay face to face at the meetup, after checking the card. Never pay in advance to someone you do not know.
Can other users see my phone?
No. Users never see each other’s contact details and there are no free messages between them. Only the trusted spot where you meet sees both parties’ name and phone, to organise the meetup and reach you if something comes up.
What is a trusted spot and how do I register mine?
A verified place, with opening hours and, if possible, staff and cameras, where meetups take place. You can register yours from “Register a trusted spot”: we review it by hand and you will see the status of your request on the same page.
How do ratings work?
The trusted spot rates buyer and seller, and they rate the trusted spot, with 0 to 3 stars. Only the stars are shown, never comments. You have 3 days after the meetup to rate; after that you cannot use the platform until you do.
What if the other person does not show up or there is a problem?
Tell the trusted spot’s staff: they have your contacts and take care of informing. You can cancel the meetup up to 15 minutes before. If you think you have been scammed, keep the screenshots and report it to the Policía Nacional or the Guardia Civil.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, Pokemarket is only for people over 18. You confirm it when you complete your profile.
